Health Hub Clinics

Health Hub Clinics

We have been established in the Yarm area for over 20 years and have a fantastic reputation locally with good links to local GPs and consultants. Our Team is made up of two Osteopaths, and a Sports Therapist.

At Tees Valley Osteopaths our aim is to work with you to ensure your health allows you to lead the life you want. Whether you are looking for pain relief, need preventative treatment, rehabilitation from injury or just looking to be more active or improving your general sense of wellbeing, we are here to help you achieve your goals.

Private Insurance

Many of our services are also covered by major insurance companies, such  as Westfield,Cigna, BUPA international. This means that if you have private healthcare cover, you could be eligible for free treatment, paid for by your insurer. We would recommend that you talk this through with your practitioner and your private health insurer before starting your treatment.

We treat people from birth to the 90’s, from athlete to sedentary workers. All sorts of treatments, for all sorts of people….maybe even someone like you!

We offer prompt access to treatment, evening appointments, free on-site parking and a friendly welcome

Medical History

Our therapists will greet you as you arrive and ask you to complete a medical history form. It is a good idea to bring a list of any medications and supplements you are taking and copies of any relevant documents like X-rays or scan reports.

Talking and Listening

You will then be taken through to a consulting room by your therapist. They will discuss your condition and medical history and listen to your concerns. They may ask about your work, home and lifestyle to understand more about you.

Movements and Tests

Following this discussion your therapist will then assess you to observe how you move, look at your posture and get an idea as to what is causing your problem. The therapist may also test how your nerves are working, take your blood pressure or perform specialist orthopaedic tests to see what the cause of your pain might be.

Collaboration and Treatment Plan

The next step is to discuss with you their findings. This may include not only what they think is happening, but also what treatments they think may help and what other tests/ scans you may require. They will also inform you if they feel osteopathy or soft tissue therapy is not appropriate for you, or if further investigation is needed before treatment commences. There will usually be time left to both start some treatment and provide you with advice on how to look after your condition. Please note that sometimes most of the initial visit may be taken up with case history taking and examination, especially if the history is a complicated one.

What to Wear

It is generally a good idea to wear loose and comfortable clothing, as long as we can see the spine or the area that is to be treated. Sometimes shorts or crop top may be appropriate to help with this. Please feel free to bring a family member or friend with you.

Parental Consent

Please note, all children under the age of 16 require an adult with legal parental responsibility to be present throughout all consultations and treatments.
